[41th] Georgia. People and accomodation

[41th] Georgia. People and accomodation

It's always interesting and educating to discover new countries, admire beautiful sights and try new food.

But as for me, the most exciting experience is meeting new  people and communicating.
If I had to choose between seeing the sights or talking to local people on any trip, I wouldn't hesitate to make my choice.
You may forget some landscapes, but you'll never forget people, who inevitably make you think, reflect and learn. Any person who appears in your life is your teacher, I guess. You should just find out what their lesson is)

Local people can render local colour much better than any piece of art.
And surely Georgian people are the treasure of this land. Everyone's heard about their hospitality and friendliness. But no one will really believe it until experiencing it)

The most frequently asked question to me is how Georgian people treat Russians. For some reason all my friends and relatives were sure that they should hate and despise us, that they can't stand the Russian language ans so on and so forth. And apparently that's due to our national television and nice presidents.
Politics is politics. It has nothing to do with ordinary people.
Georgian people do love Russians. They do want to communicate. The are really happy to speak Russian if they have a chance.
All the people I happened to talk to were really sorry for the present conflict between our countries, and no one supported their president's foreign policy.

That's the best proof, I suppose:

But let's leave politicians and business alone.

It's just pleasure to be a guest of Tbilisi, no matter where are you from. Everyone is happy to help you and show the way to any destination point. If you just stop admiring a building, one may come up to you, tell the history of this building, wish you a pleasant trip and make their way. It's absolutely normal.

It's also believed that men in Georgia treat women badly. That's crap) nowadays they even pretend not to notice you (but, nevertheless, if you have a problem, they're ready to help you at once). No man in the street even said a word to me without my asking. I.s definetly much more bothered with men's attention in Moscow.
The situation surely used to be different a couple of decades ago. And one local woman even said with regret "Eros has left the streets of Tbilisi...")

It was about Georgians on the whole.
But I'd also like to mention some people, who made my day there.

First of all, I had an amazing guide Gia. Who was intellegent enough to tell me a lot about the history of Georgia and show me its real life. Who was helpful enough to satisfy my curiousity and help me go everywhere and try everything I wanted. And who is just a nice and considerate person so I never felt bored or uncomfortable. He was my guide for several days, and he is just a friend of mine now)

I changed two places of living.
In the beginning I shared a flat with a wonderful native Georgian family. They showed me the city, told me lot about some cultural phenomena and just amused me with interesting night art discussions) it was a very interesting culture experience, and I guess I'll never thank that people enough for their hospitality and cordiality.

Then I stayed at a nice guest house in the very city center. On the one hand, it was really comfortable itself, and, on the other, I had a very pretty host Marina, who really made me feel at home. And, actually, the design of the guest house is realy fanciful. Enjoy it!
